Project Title: Overcoming Resource Shortage by Utilising Novel Ag Nanowires as Transparent Conductive Layers in Current and Next Generation Solar Cells

Background

Graduated York University in 2011 with a MPhys in Experimental Physics. My masters thesis attempted to characterise biodiesel exhaust matter through electron microscopy methods.

Research Interests

My research interests are quite wide ranging. My initial project in the DTC was evaluating real world biodiesel emissions using a test vehicle in the Headingley area of Leeds and comparing them with the emissions garnered using laboratory EU vehicle test cycles. Currently I am reviewing the case for geological disposal of nuclear waste in the UK with a specific emphasis on future waste trends dependent on different nuclear facilities and fuel cycles.

Future Work

For my PhD I will be investigating the use of novel transparent conductive layers in current and next generation solar cells, specifically concentrating on Ag nanowire meshes.
